Heritage Signs

Our Wednesday evening wood-carving group have taken on a project in 2019, working with Middlezoy Heritage Society. After searching through old maps of the village, a number of 'lost' street/field names where discovered. It was decided that we would recreate some of these, installing them as part of the footpath work which was started in 2018.

The project began early in the year with a number of evenings of tuition on how to carve letters. Individuals then created personal signs (house names, etc). Once that was complete, we moved on to carving the 'lost' names in to oak panels, which were then painted and oiled. They were then installed into position throughout the village.
